I have a Dynavox X4100 power strip. I can connect the Wiim Ultra to either a direct socket or a filtered socket. Since it is a preamp I was thinking of connecting it to the filtered socket. Any advice?

I connect my subwoofers and integrated amplifier to the direct sockets and the low power device (which happen to be the source devices) to the filtered outputs.

I never tried it the other way around, and no, I don't think I would notice a difference.

Some claim to hear congested sound and severe damage to the soundstage as soon as any mains filtering is involved. My system and my brain are probably not resolving enough to hear that. I just like the X4100 as a very convenient and good looking power strip.

I have everything connected to the same $5 IKEA power strip. I heard (or measure) no noise or distortion.

If there is any it's well below my (or my sound measuring instruments) limit.

The power switch right on the front is so much more convenient than with any standard power strip.

And L and N are already clearly marked so I don't have to paint them on myself.

I have that. Plus it is remote controlled (via WiFi).

I really don't care about the L/N and neither do my equipment. And I don't have any ground either.

Only my high power kitchen tools are grounded.
