Yea i got it... I know APC by it's USVs .. but didnt know the "conditioner" term regarding powersupply units so i was kinda confused at the beginning but all clear, now.

Perhaps they are similar to uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

That's the German short expression for "Unterbrechungsfreie Strom Versorgung" (USV) - similar to UPS systems in english

At one time, power conditioners were the bridge between a regular power strip surge protector and a full UPS, although at this point, a UPS have probably gotten cost-effective enough to go the UPS route.
