WIIM amp. Can I send the raw digital data coming in on an ethernet cord out to another DAC? I want to keep the ethernet cord connected. No wifi.

You can if the DAC has a USB input.

It sound like the OP want to send the TCP/IP data directly to the DAC?

That is of course not possible but maybe I am misunderstanding the question?

If you want to play to the USB DAC at the same time as you play to the speakers connected to the Amp then no you can't.

Is there something particularly unusual about your setup that means the other answers aren't suitable?

I mean go out from the WIIM usb and in to a usb audio interface.... separate speakers system and not simultaneous..why cant I do that??

You can, if the USB audio interface identifies itself as a DAC on the USBus.

If you send out "raw" data depends on if you apply EQ and use volume control.

do I have to select anything in the app? I would prefer it just play from the USB port whenever anything is plugged into it..but go back to normal play when there is nothing in the USB port..

IIRC you will have to change the Audio Output setting in the app on each occasion.

If you disconnect the external DAC, then the unit will default back to the speakers as usb out will no longer be selectable. If you don’t disconnect or switch off the external DAC, you’ll need to change output in the app.

I think @stry8458 mean that connecting a USB drive with files on should start playing the files?

That will however not make much sense, as most people have the USB drive permanently connected and with thousand of files.

Being able to select those files from the WiiM Ultra screen would be fine but a slow procedure. I would not use it.

I need to test this with an amp, but with an ultra:

When I attach a usb dac to the usb port then when I first turn the dac on I need to manually select usb as an output.
When I turn the dac off it automatically switches back to previous output. When I turn the dac on again it automatically switches back to usb output.
And so on...
