NO Sub output when using Line In.

so my wiim ultra is set up with 2 sources. ROON via ethernet, and a CD player via LINE IN. Anytime I stream from ROON I have no issues, sub comes on, the world is good. Then if I want to listen to a CD and switch to the RCA input, the SUB does not come on. What am I missing?

I just gave this a shot, and oddly, when plugging the CD in directly the sub works! I don't get it lol .. a line level input is a line level input yet one of them is producing no sub output.

Earlier you wrote 'then a pre amp out is going to the wiim'. Is this a line level or variable level output?
i.e. is the wiim getting a low volume signal? Is it maybe not loud enough for the sub?

I ran the pre-amp at 100% vol.

The pre-amp and the WiiM Ultra at 100%? That must have been pretty loud.

It would be helpful if you could describe your setup in full detail, naming all the components. This is most likely a configuration error. Are you using the Ultra's volume control with Roon?

I only put the pre up to 100% just to make sure, I lowered the volume on the power amps first (3 in total), then gradually turned the one driving the sub all the way up, and there was nothing but silence.
The setup consists of the CD player which is connected directly to pre-amp, then out to 2 power amps for main L&R. Then I have the pre-outs from the pre-amp going into the wiim ultra RCA inputs. Then the sub out from the Ultra going into a 3rd power amp dedicated to the sub.
