I noticed that BluSound Node132 (2024 model) is getting Dirac as a feature, since it shares the hardware (same cpu quad core arm a53 and same sabre ess dac) Wiim should be capable of the same feat.

That would indeed sway potential buyers\upgraders to stay with the Wiim brand, myself included as I own the Wiim Pro but want more EQ control.

The price increase would mainly be for the license which is optional on BluNode and could follow the same model on Wiim.

And yes I know it has been asked for previously, but nothing ever happens unless more people show interest by posting requests.

I was looking at Dirac for my Denon 3800H and decided to forego it because I already have the Audyssey XT app on my phone - and - it's REALLY EXPENSIVE with only incremental gains anecdotally. In the case of the WiiM ultra the license would be more than the hardware.

I have used HouseCurve and exported the PEQ settings to update the Ultra manually.

That would be awesome and I will pay for a Dirac Live! full range license ;)

I got the Ultra especially because I hoped to replace the Node n130 and minidsp Flex with dirac live. Unfortunately, room correction on the Ultra is not even close to Dirac in my room and with my equipment. As much as I like the Ultra for its versatility (beats the n30 in all disciplines) RC and sub integration is still not up to par with minidsp and Dirac.
I tried many different measurements, even with the UMIK-1 (without calibration) but none gave me comparable results.
Especially imaging is not great - where Dirac is painting a clear centered well defined stage, with the WiiM it is still quite diffuse and voices and instruments are hard to locate. The WiiM is still better with than without RC.

It's a bugger because I would have loved the chance to later experiment with a different DAC behind the WiiM, using the corrected signal via USB - another great WiiM feature. Well, maybe RC updates keep coming, calibration files can be used in the future and the RC algorithm will be further optimised. That would be brilliant.

What frequency range did you use for the room correction?

I am very disappointed with the Wiim Ultra RC, and also cast my vote for adding DIRAC compatibility. Initially, I used the Wiim's RC because I thought it would improve the sound, but after reading the manual I realized that it was significantly altering the sound so I turned it off. After disabling the RC, the soundstage opened up phenomenally and the sound was so much clearer and more detailed that it was like a major system upgrade.

Just wanted to bring this subject matter back up. Happy to see WiiM/Linkplay continue to develop and improve RoomFit, but would love to have the option to buy and apply a DIRAC Live license.

Started playing around with DIRAC Live on my MacBook Air M1 in Audirvana as well as using SoundSource to directly send from Qobuz app to DIRAC Processor and frankly even with a single calibration at the MLP only the quality of the room correction and resulting sound absolutely stomps RoomFit. I've now completely disconnected my WiiM Ultra (fine with my movie/TV watching [ARC signal] going straight to my preamp [Luxsin X9] and being uncorrected), but I will remain active in these forums to keep up with the latest in WiiM world and since my dad will continue to rely on me anyway as his WiiM Technical Support. :ROFLMAO:

I was hoping for those who wanted Dirac live wiim would include them for those who wanted to purchase a licensed. Some other streamer Dirac live is available for those wanted to purchase them. I like having a choice if I wanted to use their rc or third party.

So, you've changed your mind since October 2024? ;)
That may sounds good but we’re the type of people who like free updates and not paying license fee. All these businesses in streaming they only provide bug fix which won’t resonate on us wiim users. We’ve been getting both additional features and bug fix at no additional cost.

Personally, I can understand the request but I don't think it's going to happen. Not any time soon, at least. Unlike traditional manufacturers Linkplay/WiiM are very much a software company. They don't source software from third parties, they sell it to others.

Should time proof me wrong I wouldn't mind.

A matter of what market they're trying to participate in/move into. DIRAC would be a bit of an upmarket move if offered, but again, options don't cost a ton (the primary development cost here is integrating the ability to apply the DIRAC filtering; calculating the filters etc. are done offline on a laptop anyway). Not asking them to include the license, just asking them to allow people who buy a license from DIRAC to utilize it on the WiiM's DSP. This is just how BlueSound is doing it with their inferior streamers (compared to WiiM--yes, there, I said it).

I already use Qobuz for streaming and have a MacBook Air M1 and a UMIK-1, so I figured why not give DIRAC a 2-week free try? I have a separate preamp that handles my bass management requirements as well as ARC input, so the WiiM wasn't actually doing anything for me anymore that my laptop can't do once you factor in room correction from DIRAC. At first I was using Audirvana since it can handle both, Qobuz and my personal library with its built-in DIRAC RC filter, and then I discovered the SoundSource app which allows me to push anything I want playing through the Mac through the DIRAC Processor. Next thing you know, I'm using AirPlay from my Apple TV 4K to my laptop to watch movies with DIRAC room-corrected audio through my system with perfect lip-synch!!!

Well, I did and my mind was blown. Frankly, if DIRAC room correction is a 9/10, I'd rank DSPeaker's full-range Anti-Mode X2D as a 7/10, subwoofer-only Anti-Mode 8033 as 6/10, and WiiM RoomFit as a 4/10 w/UMIK-1 &2/10 w/phone mic.
