Intro Note: These requests are related to DLNA servers in general, I believe. Just in case: my UPnP/DLNA server is MinimServer 2.2, currently with update 258, contains 33,744 tracks, all of which with the "Genre", "Artist", "Album", "AlbumArtist", "Date", "Track", and track number tag values, as well as artwork, all of which have the size between 500x500 and 1000x1000 pixels. My Wiim Home/Ultra in the Legacy Mode browses and shows the complete contents of the server correctly and with the correct artwork, in list mode (not the grid mode).
(1) Feature request: When browsing a DLNA server in the Legacy Mode, make the grid view available, too, and make it possible to toggle between the list and grid views.
Note: Having run the "(Re)Scan Your Music Server" function, when browsing in the Advanced Mode the artwork for Album Artists, Artists, and Genres is not shown.
(2) Feature request: Make in the Advanced Mode the artwork for Album Artists, Artists, and Genres shown (as the artwork does exist, Wiim Home sees it, and shows it in the Legacy Mode). This is especially important in any grid mode where each icon is big and the artwork would greatly help the user notice what each item is about (rather than reading text all over the screen).
(3) Implement toggleable list-or-grid views in all screens, where sensible per your discretion.
(4) Memorize for each screen which view (i.e. list or grid) the user last selected and return to that type of view when the user next selects it.
Wiim Ultra feature request:
(5) Make it possible using solely the Wiim Ultra's touch screen to select a UPnP/DLNA server, browse/drill down all its contents/hierarchy, and to play an album from a selected track to the end of the album/list; and also to navigate upward in the server's hierarchy (analogously to the Wiim Home app's functionality).
Note: All the above-mentioned feature requests related to the Legacy Mode (even request #5) have been present in the Yamaha NP-S303 streamer (using a two-line dot-matrix display, a nob, and a few buttons - imagine that) and its MusicCast app for several years now. I hope that Wiim may implement these features before long, and make me soon no longer miss my old streamer in any way anymore. I wish you/Wiim much success, and thank you in advance for your related efforts.
