Eq on analog input

If I activate the graphic equaliser on an analogue input stream, does this trigger an analogue to digital conversion?

Thanks

I see now I have gotten confused. All signals coming INTO the wiim are digital, so if the graphic equaliser is used will the signal be coverted to analogue and back to digital if the optical output is selected?

Hi,
I am no expert but it seems unlikely that Wiim would turn a digital signal (which it would be for the equaliser to work) into analogue, then back into digital to send a digital signal down an optical pipe. I imagine that for cost purposes alone the number of such conversions would be minimised.
Perhaps someone with more detailed info will put us right!

Simple!

Analog input is converted to digital.
All EQ and volume control is done digitally.
Analog output is converted from digital.

You certainly seem confused now.How can ALL signals coming into the WiiM be digital. Your post was about an analog input. The analogy input is passed through an A/D converter to allow digital volume and EQ.

I also tend to think that American English spelling is the way it is because the Mayflower Pilgrims threw what they saw as unnecessary letters overboard to keep the cargo weight down 😉🤣
Don't take away my personal little pleasure of posting in American German English on ASR and British German English here. 🤪

The difference mainly manifesting in "analogue/analog", "programme/program", "valves/tubes" and "favourites/favorites" (since we don't talk much about "tyres/tires" here). 😅

Fun fact: OED and Merriam-Webster agree on the spelling of "hard disk". But no matter what, Americans will never win the war on "aluminium/aluminum"!!!

@nichop, I hope you don't mind some unrelated nonsense, now your question has been answered.
