External CD Transport to wiim ultra

So my to buy CD Transport has digital Out. I am Wondering If wiim ultra would be able to Show which is the CD that I am playing. IS this possible somehow?

It's not possible with the SPDIF signal that is used in the digital output of a CD and in on the WiiM.

Some CDs do include the information (meta data) but that is for display on the CD player only.

you can buy rose streamer and then external cd from rose.
I know that Roon is working on such feature but it requires new compatible cd player...

And special text CDs I would expect?

Or will it do a lookup in a CDDB?

Im almost sure that it is from CDDB.
I have external cd (Rega) connected to ultra but of course no info from cd. I have also my cd ripped to Roon which is great option but not so cheap (Roon license)

Works with Lyrion CDplayer plugin with usb cd players & if cd has appropriate metadata - most don't - using Musicbrainz lookup.

Crazy that there seems to be no universal standard for cd text/metadata.

Of course technically it could be done on the WiiM Ultra by connecting a USB CD player to the Ultra. Having it looking the disc ID (track count and length) up in a CDDB would allow album art and track info to be displayed. So if WiiM wanted they probably could.

I think people have been asking for the USB CD connectivity before?

But then how do u use peq? I think only wiim offers crossovers and peq
