Feature Request for Separate PEQ for Left & Right Channels

I was importing 20-band PEQ table from a spinorama outcome and of course, I had to truncate to the first 10 PEQ's.
  1. Can we extend to 20-band?
  2. Can we pre-eq gain (bulk shift gain) to avoid digital clipping? Manual pre-eq gain is fine.
  3. Extend 1 more digit after decimal point for gain and Q values

PEQ is not a free lunch. Using 20 bands of PEQ would cause more problems than it would solve. Also high precision fractional values are not helpful. PEQ should not be used as a surgical instrument.

10 band should be enough and having more band like 20 would not be ideal fixing every peak and dip. You should treat your room if you need more than 10.

Sarcasm is not everyone's cup of tea 😉

Honestly I just have old fashioned "bass" and "treble" controls and find that "free" room treatments like speaker positioning allow me to run flat PEQ and Tone Defeat most of the time.

Room Correction and PEQ are nice, but you have to wonder if your speakers are just not in the right place.

This discussion sounds very similar to what I observed in Qudelix 5K forum (balanced BT headphone amp) when customers were asking for extended PEQ. After all discussions and long debates, now it offers two choices;
  1. 20-band PEQ on both channel together
  2. 10-band PEQ independent on left and right
Qudelix 5K can also load auto EQ database for headphone EQ.

When it comes to PEQ implementation and user interface on app, Qudelix 5K is a good benchmark. I hope WiiM can learn.

The most important one I think is the pre-EQ gain. Without it, it will most likely cause a digital clipping.

Any update on this feature request. My left speaker is in the corner and the right one more towards the centre. So my measurements show different responses, particularly around 150hz.

That measurement should reflect what actually reaches your ears after room reflections and the combined sound waves.

The latest firmware and app enable the L-R separate PEQ for Wiim Pro Plus.
I think Wiim will be done tweaking rc once it accomplish the following feature which include independent left right peq, auto level sub, auto timing between sub and speaker and auto crossover.

It's done! Thanks @WiiM Team
Wow! That was fast ;). Just did the update and hey presto! This is perfect as I've just upgraded my speakers from Kef LS50 Meta and the R7s and now want to get down to doing some room correction. Particularly as I'm in a small room so the R7s need a little taming.

Has anyone noticed that the PEQ interface behaves really weirdly in L/R channels mode? I’ve been trying to save copies of previous EQ tables to modify them and when you switch between them one of the channels seems to get lost. It doesn’t sound that the information would be actually lost but from the interface it definitely does. The same happens when you switch from L/R mode to Stereo or to another input tab. Just would want to know whether anyone else is experiencing the same, or is it some kind of corruption in the memory cache.

If I recall, @Wiimer has discussed/ figured this out in an earlier post within the past month or so. Try a group search for their posts

Wiim stated there will be beta on independent peq this week which I have not seen yet.
