Feedback Needed: Music Sources Survey

We want to hear from you! We're running a short survey to better understand how our community listens to audio at home. If you listen to music services, podcasts, physical media, TV or anything else, come let us know. It only takes a minute or two. Your feedback genuinely helps us improve WiiM for everyone.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

That would be unusual. Are you sure. Did you test it?

The iBroadcast app may make the casting continue but does also stream audio data from the phone?

I'd be surprised if the audio came from the phone as the whole point of iBroadcast is that it stores your local music in its cloud so that services like Alexa can play it. I would have said that the use of Chromecast tells the iBroadcast cloud service to send the track from its cloud to the playing device.
To be honest I'm not 100% sure how it works, but either way if you switch the phone off, the music stops.

Completed. I use FLAC files on the server but the wife uses Spotify. A CD player would be a nice addition along with a FM tuner.

Also...Space Grey across the devices matching would nice.

There is no option for not listening to.a service. I don't listen to physical media or the TV.

Hence your questionnaire won't let me submit as I've left those questions blank.

The survey can be completed even if you have audio devices that never play anything at all. You can select 0 service subscriptions, Never to all of the different types, and then Other and say "nothing". Though if you wanted to share what you do listen to, you should be able to find something.

It would also force Sonos, Teufel, Bluesound and others to finally provide UPnP connectivity.
Surely you aren't expecting WiiM/LinkPlay to expend Capital to help bring the Competition closer to Parity.
This would be a big step ahead for local content as well. Being able to access a decent server is so much nicer (and faster) than having to rely on SMB sharing and building their own ghastly libraries.
Being able to utilize UPnP/DLNA, MinimServer, Plex, Lyrion, Roon, et al on WiiM is definitely better than the competition only offering SMB - especially for those of us with GHASTLY Libraries. (1400 physical CDs, 100 assorted SACD/DVD-A/BD-A, and a combined ripped FLAC file count over 100K)

Thanks Ryan. Survey duly completed and submitted.

You have misread my post. What Bluesound and others make of your collection by building up libraries from reading SMB shares is ghastly. Not your library as such.

Part of the reason I prefer using Roon to manage my personal collection nowadays.
