Google Home is absolute, non-working trash, would purchasing an iPad to strictly control music via Airplay solve my issues?

I'm trying to get five Audio Pro speakers (so far) and one JBL Authentic 300 to play together without issues however Google home is all over the place and honestly I would prefer not to use it... {side note, currently the JBL is using a WiiM mini, Aux input to play with the other speakers}

So, I'm not an Apple product user but I would purchase an iPad strictly for controlling music if it works...

To clarify, every device that I currently have is Airplay compatible (One WiiM pro plus, two A10 MKII's, one A10 non WiiM, one C10 MKII WiiM & one C5A and one JBL Authentic 300.

Anyone else do this to avoid wasted hours of troubleshooting?

The Audio Pro WiiM versions work fine with Google Home App. They can form a group and streams can be chromecasted to the group.

Also… the Audio pro WiiM versions do support AirPlay 2, so yes Apple devices can stream to them. In that case use WiiM groups to group the speakers.

For airplay 2, I’d be tempted to group them from whatever client app you’re using as grouping is part of airplay 2’s raison d’etre.

For whatever reason, I cant get Google to create a speaker group... I get to "Name this speaker group" and it just spins and fails, tried multiple times. Maybe I have too much crap.... If its that complicated to setup then maybe its not for me...

To be honest, I have never liked Google products, I have 4 of the Nest hubs, never liked them...
