Harmony Logitech

Well aren't you a bundle of joy.

I've had it running my whole entertainment system and lots of extra automation for ages, all new stuff I've gotten could be linked to it if I feel the need. Mine is all linked as I like, so as an example, when I want to go to bed it will turn off all audio related gear, start shutting down living room lights and light up my bedroom for reading with a single buttong command. Why you are being so dismissive about this?

Logitech left the tech in the gray area, it is closer to abandonware than open domain, but it still works fine. The remotes are easy to maintain, changing the battery is quite a simple task.

You don't use the gear, that's fine, but maybe leave us discussing their use without your extra attitude?

I've used it for long. But I accept when things went obsolete. But yes, my nature is pure sunshine.

Logotech squeezebox aren't obselete neither are ir remotes

When wiim drop support for the streamers the Logitech still be supported

Because it's open source

I wouldn't use the search function on a WiiM using a remote either, but I do use my Harmony when there's an on-screen keyboard when I'm watching Netflix etc on the fire tv cube that my Harmony remote also controls.
Ah yes, I've got a HTPC setup, so I've only got a dedicated keyboard (with trackpad), plus a extra mouse, in addition to the remote.

But even for a WiiM, it's very handy to use pause/mute, fire off a preset etc using an at-hand remote rather than waking up my phone or tablet, find the Wiim app, open it and then press pause/mute...
Most of my presets are not related to the listening side of things, probably because my setup HTPC and physical media oriented, when I'm listening music from streaming sources it's either a laptop or said HTPC and on rare occasion my phone.

Look at the Squeezebox remote and think are those direct command functions useful.
Gotcha, yes. Like I suspected, our use cases are very different.
Thanks for the clarification tho. I do have a DLNA and a Navidrome servers that might benefit from something like this, but I don't think I'll use those that much at home anyway, so...

Harmony remotes are awsome, had one for many years, its nice to have just one remote that controls everything, sold mine a little while ago and got a Sofabatton, which i really like because there is no touch screen so i dont even have to look at it as im used to button placement.
Would love to see support for Harmony and Sofabatton.
