this is kind of bullshit - i noticed that amazon will have "versions" of their files which depends on when you added them to a playlist. ive been an amazonmusicHD user from the beginning. some of my playlists are old. which means the file rates for my songs are this shitty 264 kpbs rip off. they should be at least 900+ for HD. some UHD (mostly classical rock like the rolling stones etc) can be as high as 5000 kpbs.

now i have to go back and forth finding the shitty ones and adding the newest versions. which are identical to the album and song version. pic included - dont tease me for the eclectic nature of the music 😅 - notice the HD or ULTRA HD or NOTHING under the track titles. is this a thing?!

To be honest, I'm not sure, but I suspect you have a file mixed in that you have previously downloaded in low quality.

First, please try switching off 'Play downloaded songs first' in the Amazon music app settings and refresh My Music.

If this does not solve the problem, you can try logging out or reinstalling the Amazon music app to remove the downloaded songs.

ive never downloaded them ive only ever added to a playlist, i use my phone or pc to listen. i have unlimited cell data so i just go to the playlist and hit play. but some of the files have been around for so long i dont think they were "upped." also amazon had a issue with "imposter" artists that would make tribute bands and pose as the real band. so they are basically giving up on going through older playlists and ensuring they are the max quality. its too much sorting for them or something.

Have you tried reinstalling the APP?
nope, someone pointed out that there may have been a point when i uploaded songs to my account. and amazon is using those as the file when i make a playlist. i think thats right, now i have to figure out how to remove them if its true
