Hi,
I have searched this topic but cannot see a close match to my apparent issue, which is that I cannot yet get any audio output from my TV when connected to the Ultra via hdmi.
Optical/spdif works fine with the TV, no setup or usage issues, as do the Ethernet and line-in options when those sources are selected in the app.
I have tried 2 different hdmi cables, including the Wiim-supplied one, and have tried various settings yfor auto-sense, CEC on and off, pre-gain, and possibly others that I now forget.
My TV, a 5 year old Toshiba, shows HDMI-ARC as one of the output choices so I have selected that when testing, and the audio format is PCM.
I have also tried disconnecting the TV etc, for 10 minutes, as suggesred elsewhere, without success.
The Ultra firmware is dated 15th Jan 2025 and the app (on Android) is 3.1...
I will get another hdmi cable, and will also try to find another device that outputs hdmi, but until then can anyone suggest a test or setting/settings that I have overlooked?
To give praise where it is due, I run wired Ethernet and am pleased with how the Ultra browses my network, with no setup issues, and delivers to my amp/speakers.

Hi,
Can you tell us what model of TV you have?

You may have already tried, but if it supports eARC (if possible) turn off eARC.

Also make sure you use the HDMI ARC connection on the TV. There is usually only one of the connectors that support ARC.

I would go so so far and say that I have never seen more than one HDMI ARC port on any TV.

The HDMI cable supplied by WiiM is ARC compliant. That makes some sense because HDMI ARC is the sole reason they include it with the Ultra, Amp and Amp Pro. :)

Thank you. I took the TV off the wall, removed the VESA plate and found another hdmi connection underneath, this one is marked ARC as you anticipated.
A bit of time with drill and hacksaw and this port is now usable, and worked with the TV and Ultra as expected, once the TV was set to Hdmi Arc.
Great forum and help!
As a follow up, does anyone know why the Wiim app shows this source as TV and not as hdmi? Is it because it is not a general hdmi port but is limited to what TVs put out ?

For the WiiM device it is for TV sound only and not a generel HDMI interface.

It should however be possible to rename it, as it is with s few other inputs. Unfortunately it's not.

Yes, the port on the WiiM only accepts HDMI ARC, which is different from general audio over HDMI. Usually, TVs are the only devices making use of the Audio Return Channel (maybe except from some audio extractors).

It used to be possible to rename it on earlier firmware versions, as I named mine HDMI. Sadly, this option has been removed.
