HDMI stopped working

Everything has been working perfectly for months, but now, out of nowhere, there’s no sound coming through the speakers. The Wiim device powers on when I turn on the TV, but the sound only comes through the TV speakers—not the external speakers. The Wiim just displays "The music has stopped."

As I mentioned, it’s been working fine for months, including yesterday, and I’m certain that no settings have been changed.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Also, make sure the speaker setting on the TV is set to external speakers.

Next, disconnect the power cables from the TV and Ultra and plug the HDMI cable back in. After at least 10 minutes, connect the power cables and check the operation.

Thank you! I did just submit a ticket.

Actually, this is an older Samsung smart TV and setting this to "Use external speakers" never worked in the first place, when doing that there was no sound from the TV or the external speakers. Instead what did work was leaving it at TV speakers and then set enable HDMI Arc output so that is set to on. This is the settings I have been using for the past couple of months, that just stopped working.

I did try the "Use external speaker" setting again, but no luck there. I'll try to set it like that and disconnect everything tomorrow.

But like I said, I have not been using the external speaker setting before, and it has worked until now so there must be something else that has stopped working.

Also, please try another HDMI cable just to be sure.

Samsung TV is the brand with the most reported problems on this forum. If it have the Android OS, you could try rebooting the OS as well.

Interesting solution. Why do 10 mins is so important? What is going on within this period?

If the power cable is unplugged and left unattended, the electricity in the TV is discharged and the error may be repaired. This is an old known troubleshooting in my country, but I confess I do not know the technical details 😅.

But I still want to thank you, and your country. This saved my day!
