How many Wiims are out in the wild?

There's little doubt that the Wiim in its various forms has rapidly become a popular and effective streamer.

I wonder just how many units there are out there on a daily basis? Recently, an analytics plugin was added to LMS/Lyrion which provides a snapshot of how many LMS installs there are globally, along with other information such as country location, squeezebox devices enabled, etc. For example, the largest number of users are located in Germany, and there's only 1 user in Venezuela! The largest number of installs are via some Docker setup, followed by Windows installs.

While the Wiim install isn't directly comparable, I guess similar data will probably remain a commercial secret. However, it would be interesting to compare where Wiim stands in the streaming device market. While comparative data is difficult to obtain, some examples could be made: Roon claims between 100K-250K users (really?), Sonos sold 5 million units in 2023 - who knows how many Bluesound, Naim or Volumio users are out there? How many Wiim users have more than 1 device?

Sonos sells a lot of stand alone speakers, which people can buy without needing to get an amplifier, a streamer, etc.

Comparing sales of streamer DACs sold in speciality stores, that requires an existing system, with soundbars that are sold in every electronics store seems a bit silly.

Not really. This is the world of network streaming and Sonos are streamers, not just speakers. And in the real world not every electronics store sells Sonos. Only audiophiliacs obsess about DACs and phono stages, most just want something that sounds 'good' with Spotify or their mp3 downloads

In the real world, here in Norway.
All the major electronics stores sells Sonos products (Power, elkjøp, Dustin, komplett, coolshop, eplehuset, deal, multicom, teknik, cs, proshop, hifi-klubben, etc.)

Only two of them sell wiim products.

And that's without counting the HiFi stores.

And you also make my point clearer.
Only audiophiles care about DACs, which except for the amp, has been the only products wiim has provided.

Here in Spain, Wiim is essentially an Amazon purchase.
