I can't find wiim ultra in spotify app.

Prior to the iOS update, Wiim Ultra device switching was successful in the Spotify app.
I can't find the device in the soptify app after updating the ios.
Only connecting comes out.

You can connect to the device through the wiim home app.
When connected, it comes out of the spotify app and can be operated,
I have to do that again next time.

I don't know if it's a problem with ios, wiim home, or spotify app.

I also tried to initialize the wiim ultra device.

Yes, I'm having the same problem with my Android phone from the other day. In my case, the Ultra connects fine, but all other WiiM devices do not.

I'm thinking it's probably a bug in the Spotify app, but I'd recommend submitting a ticket through the feedback section of the WiiM app.
 
What do you mean by connecting via the WiiM home app? From my recollection, all that does is open the Spotify app from where you still need to connect to your WiiM just as if you’d opened the Spotify app itself.

When you have the issue, you should raise a ticket to WiiM via the more/feedback section in the WiiM home app so they can inspect your logs for clues.

I connected to wiim ultra with spotify alone
It doesn't work after an iOS update.
So the same network is showing a spotify list with wiim home,
When I run the spotify app again, it's shown mirrored in wiim home
That's when it connects.

soptify alone has wiim ultra on the list of connections
I can't connect. I just keep loading.

In my case, when I connect to Pro via the Spotify app, it says "connecting" and does not complete the connection. However, when I open WHA, Spotify appears on the Now playing screen. When I press the play button, Spotify plays normally. But the connection is still not completed in the Spotify app. This is very strange 🤷.

Note that the connection to persistent groups and Echo devices is fine. Maybe it has something to do with persistent groups 🤔.

Connection to a single WiiM device is ok.
The WiiM Groups are sometimes shown in the Spotify Connect list, sometimes not. The connection to a WiiM Group do however never succeed.

Edit: With Tidal app the WiiM Groups are not showing at all.

The symptoms seem to be exactly the opposite of mine. wonder..🙃

Ok. I don't use Tidal app, only play Tidal via WHA, so not checking before. Shouldn't WiiM Groups show in the Tidal Connect list?

I will conclude that the Spotify Connect is very unstable. I just tried to connect to my Ultra from Spotify app and then change to Group play. That disconnected the Spotify app but WiiM kept playing to the Group.
 
I have a similar problem. Spotify syncs vía 5G connection but if you try to Connect vía wifi fails. I tried everything. The only way was dismount actual apk of Spotify in my android phone and install the 9.0.16 version

We’ve noticed that Spotify Connect works fine when Chromecast is disabled. Please try performing a factory reset on the WiiM device, then reconnect it to WiFi without enabling Chromecast. "

That makes it sound like a WiiM issue, no? And wouldn’t resetting kill all your presets etc? A better solution is surely needed.

Yes, it is. And Chromecast will not work. Maybe it's a temporary compromise, but I am not sure..
 
Hi guys

Same issue here. Since the Spotify update 9.0.18.604 (10.02.2025), I see my Wiim Amp in Spotify App but I can't connect to send music, annoying ! From my experience, I think the issue comes from Spotify. Hope they will publish a new update

It's always the same story with Spotify. They publish an update, everything is down. In the past, I had a Chromecast Audio, they published an update and it was impossible to listen music.
 
I can confirm that I no longer am able to use Spotify connect on Android using wiim ultra. I have to change to Google cast for audio output to work.1000001582.png
 
I will experiment, but can confirm

  1. Spotify Connect is failing on iOS latest to Wiim Ultra but Chromecast Works
  2. Spotify Connect is failing on Android 15 to Wiim Ultra but Chromecast Works
This is only a temporary workaround for us, because we can set Spotify off and then use the phone for other things but with Chromecast music stops if Spotifiy app is shut down. Plus sound quality appears less good.

Will disable Chromecast and see what happens next.

Re Spotify vs Wiim - regardless of the team saying Spotify must fix this, have found various "weird" behaviours on Ultra, probably related to Chromecast vs Spotify Connect.

  • Google Home no longer accepts "OK Google Stop", which used to work on old ChromeAudio.
  • Device is put into a room using Google Home but disappears regularly.
Not convinced either way who is what % at fault, but a fix would be appreciated!
