I have tested DC offset from the Hypex ncore amplifiers terminal with the Ultra as source.

Hypex ncore power amps do not have any dc protection on the rca input. This is unusual.

The ultra do not have blocking capacitors on the rca output and could potentially send DC to the amplifier.

Onlyoneme measured the DC offset in Ultra from the rca output to be 0.25 mV in idle, and 1.2 mV for full scale 1 kHz sine.

My setup was ultra - rca cables - Hypex ncore 125 . The ultra set to pause after playing some music one hour . Volume put to 30.

I followed this advice:

The DC result measuring with a volt meter at the amplifiers left loudspeaker terminal was 2 mV, or 0.002 V.
Very low , so I guess there is no worries about to much DC.

What do the experts say about this result ?

i would love to know too. Hypex based amps do not filter dc and lets it passthrough. Do other amps with filtering filter dc 100%?

I have my Wiim rca output directly to my Audiophonics ncore 125 poweramp and nothing is broken , no loud soundpops or anything like that .

Most poweramps has dc protection , but a electrolyte capacitor in series always make the sound less clear . Not having that , that’s probably one reason why hypex sound better than other class D

Same here, Ultra's RCA out to 2 raw NC250MP blocks, dead quiet. That require full trust in Ultra's volume limiter tho (it never failed or reset, even after firmware update, up to now at least)

(1) The "normal" inputs to the Hypex amps are balanced, right? So they wouldn't care about DC since only the differential signal drives the amp. Perhaps if you use the simple SE to balanced plug will you run the issue of DC. I recall Bruno writing about his design a while back...

(2) Perhaps the Ultra needs a transformer or cap adaptor to shunt the DC.

(3) I'm more concerned with DC on the outputs of the amp. In the last three years I've blown three speakers...
