does the WIIM Ultra has I2S input?

There is a HDMI ARC input at the back.
What is the difference between this HDMI ARC input and the I2S (hdmi type) input to DAC ?

No. The HDMI connection on the Ultra is solely for an ARC connection to a TV to the best of my knowledge.

I don’t know much if anything about I2S, but if I were to follow your logic that would also mean that PCM audio from a Blu-ray player into an ultra should work, but it doesn’t.

Edit: while the content and the physical connection may be the same, I’d guess HDMI ARC and I2S are different and incompatible protocols

I2S was originally only meant to be used internally then someone decided to use it as an output protocol probably accompanied by mumbo jumbo claiming better quality and here we are. It certainly isn't a standard like coax or optical.

For a start, the pinout is completely different.

ARC:

(Disregard the fact that specific chips are shown here.)

I²S:

To make matters worse, there seem to be two conflicting standards.

ARC is S/PDIF, so there is no separate clock signal at all.

Conclusion: No, it cannot work.

Yes I2S is only working properly on very short distanced, such as on a PCB.
