Latency between TV and linked devices

I have a Visio smart TV attach to a WiiM amp, output via HDMI. If I play video from the TV through the amp to wired speakers, everything works great. If I try to link the amp to a WiiM Mini attached to a powered speaker, I get a great deal of latency between video and sound from both sources. The wireless speaker is connected through the mini’s aux port. Suggestions?

If you can adjust lip sync in your TV's settings, give it a try. I don't have any other ideas.

Often the only delay available on tvs is to increase the audio delay.
You effectively want to delay the video.
My not so helpful suggestion - don't try to watch tv with grouped devices.

I tried the lip sync with no success. I think your “not so helpful suggestion” is probably the best, although not what I want to hear!

Thanks for your response. I wish this could be addressed in a future update. I read in other threads that there was a latency adjustment in the settings, but I can't seem to find it. I'm thinking it was removed if it was ever included.

It's possible you are thinking about the sample rate switch latency option, in the Audio Output page, or more likely the manual sync option in the Sync Audio page.
With multi room playback the audio needs to be synched across all devices, hence my (seemingly reasonable) assertion that an initial delay will be unavoidable.
We're quite sensitive to lip sync, and I doubt that delay could be reduced enough to make it acceptable.

Be happy - I used to have a different streamer with an hdmi input that had, to me, an unacceptable delay even when used by itself. It made me Blue...
My Pros and Ultra, using either optical in or hdmi (ultra only, obviously) have no lip sync issues used alone.

I reached the same conclusion after a couple of weeks of research. I thought TV video had a built in delay, and the path to sync was to delay the audio,

As it stands, it appears that DSP delays audio, and multi-room sync also delays audio. There doesn’t seem to be any low cost video delay.

I might just have to rework my setup. I have 2 outdoor speakers here at the bar that are on one amp (along with 2 deck speakers above) and we are having a pool put in that will have four speakers on the other amp (around the back side of the pool). To my knowledge, each amp is only capable of powering 4 speakers max.
