Let's talk movies & streaming shows

Just back in from seeing "Project Hail Mary" with Ryan Gosling. A bit on the long side and a bit slapstick in places but I enjoyed it. Some good music too

Anyone remember the tv show from roundabout 2010 called The Rubicon in which the core plot involved a secret society of corporate war profiteers who use intelligence from a private intelligence agency to predict or engineer major world disasters—such as terrorist attacks and industrial accidents—in order to manipulate the stock market and profit from them? Having read the recent news, it seems like a case of life imitating art...

AI science fiction - a bit clunky but no worse than some of the commercial stuff on the major streamers!

really interesting that this is Ai produced .. even if 'clunky' the possibilty of using the basic story line to create a film/series is clearly possible.
Maybe Ai will produce a new '2001' .. we can only hope :)

its hit the 'outernet' .. have to say huge disappointment, more weak unbelievable comedy than scifi .. hopes dashed 4/10 ( on the @castalla scale )
:(
cuts his own hair yet looks 'styled' like he went to hairdressers .. :ROFLMAO:

Deadloch - Prime. Police drama - comedy set in Australia's Northern Territory. Portrays locals as foul-mouthed moronic imbeciles obsessed with crocodiles. Lesbian detectives on the case. 0/10

Margot's Got Money Troubles - Apple. Dramedy. Single mother grad student survives in contemporary USA. Some big stars, decent storyline, and good acting. 8/10

@castalla .. liking this thread .. (y)
ok 'Euphoria' .. very well acted especially the main character 'Roo', sexual deep, very dark under the surface .. watch from pilot and S1 ep1 i'm on s1 ep3 and would give 8/10 on the 'castalla scale'

“White Lines” on Netflix. This annoying wannabe crime drama turns out to be an Ibiza self-discovery trip featuring expressionless actors and extras. I can't really find anything good on streaming platforms anymore. My hope is “Dept. Q,” Season 2.

Dept Q should be filming later this year and production wraps up in December 2026 by this article.
