Max Volume to low?!

Yes , but you have that 30% insanely loud ..on wiim I have a maximum of "pretty loud" with 89db speakers. I bought this amp for the specs ..60W on 8Ohm (I had 30W /ch Denon F07 , Yamaha RXE 400 , 50W Yamaha R-S300) and I thought I'm fine with 60 ...but ...gain,power...to low
Could you please provide your ticket number? This will enable us to promptly follow up on your issue.

The measurement results showed that the Wiim at maximum volume sounds as good as the R-N602 at the -5db setting. So it is a bit quieter ...
Thank you for choosing the right terminology. It's not as loud, which just proofs there's less gain (but doesn't say anything about max. power, if the sound is still clear and undistorted).

I still think that WiiM have been rather conservative here, maybe even too conservative. Few sources will be able to drive the power amp section into clipping.

Hi there,

I'm using the WIIM Amp since a few weeks, connected is a pair of Q Acoustics 3050i with 91 dB (6 Ohm) sensivity.
My expectation was that 60 watts into 8 ohms should be enough to drive the speakers at party level!
At 100% volume I measure at a distance of one meter just 88 dB at the peak with rock music.

Is that normal for the WIIM amp?

I´ve done already a reset to factory.

I can't complain about the sound, both CD via optical input and streams via Amazon sound really good....

Any ideas?

Thanks and best regards

By chance get a resolution? I’m having the same issue…just can’t get “loud” output from Klipsch AW-650 speakers.

Generally speaking there's nothing to be "resolved" here. If the source volume is low, the output to the speakers will be low.

So, what are your sources, interface type and programme material? If e.g. the built-in Radio Paradise streaming service is as low on maximum volume as a turntable connected to the line input, then there might be a technical problem. How is the sound quality, in particular bass? If it's lacking you might want to double check the polarity of both speaker cables.

There is no magic setting or trick to get higer SPL. Give us some details.

Appreciate the response.

I have a WiiM Amp hooked up to Klipsch AW-650 outdoor speakers. I have two sources, both of which the volume output is low even at the highest level:
- WiFi: streaming music from iPhone / ITunes library;
- Bluetooth: outdoor TV connected via Bluetooth to the WiiM Amp.

Below are pictures on the connections on the back of the Amp. I was worried the copper wire protruding through the binding post just a bit might be an issue but have since been told it shouldn’t impact the volume.

I’ve checked every source setting in the WiiM app, ensuring output is 100%. Not able to get “party loud” and enjoyable listening currently has the volume at max.

Open to ideas…

Unfortunately these are both streaming sources I have no personal experience with.

The important thing regarding the cable connection is that the white and the red wire must go to one of the red terminals (Plus) on each speaker. Neither green nor black must go to the red binding post on any speaker.

Somewhat thicker wire wouldn't hurt, btw.

Do you have the WiiM Amp configured for stere or for mono?

I can also see a nick in the green wire and would question the wiring like harkspabst.

I would bring the speakers indoors and test with single runs in a normal room or if possible with another pair of speakers.

Agreed on the thicker wire but unfortunately this is what the house came pre-wired with. The same wires however provide more than enough sound to rear speakers in that pictured room from a (eeek) sound bar so I don’t THINK it’s the wires.

Great idea. When I get back home on Monday, I’ll bring in a single speaker (don’t think bringing just one in would be an issue?) and run with better speaker wire that I have.

In any case, make sure to check the polarity. I'm not fully convinced that this is the problem,.indeed, but with two speakers wired out of phase the bass output of one would cancel out the other.

If you bring in just one speaker with the other one being far enough away (door shut) this is not happening, so each individual speakers would sound louder then when both are closer to each other.
