I've only had my Wiim Ultra for a few days but it's absolutely brilliant, I will be selling my Arcam ST60 streamer which was 4 times the price and it's software was always flaky, never updated and crashed almost every night when streaming plus the app never worked an Android.

I'm sure in time the Win Home App will improve but at the moment the lack of queue management makes it unusable for me. Instead I'm using Mconnect which found the Wiim without a hitch. It does mean I'm limited to Qobuz (or Tidal) where I prefer Amazon Music for the larger catalogue.

Mconnect's queue management is really good, Wiim could do worse than use it as a guide.

All these high quality hardware will be nothing if software is suck.

Yes, magazines like What HiFi really need to consider the software in their reviews. The ST60 sounded great (but the Wiim sounds better!) but the app was awful. Arcam pretty much abandoned the ST60 users, so I'll never touch another Arcam.

Yes I tried Alexa cast but when you do you can't manage the queue. Things like Play Next or Add to Queue are disabled.
That’s an Amazon Music app constraint - it’s the same if you were casting to an echo. Try the WiiM home app instead, I believe it still has those features.

Yep, now that I know that and that the Play Next\Play Last options only show up if the currently playing track is from the same source as the one you want to queue I can happily use the WHA.
