Modernized Console Project

Fun little project I've been tinkering with. Had a beautiful mid-century record console handed down from my in-laws. I've gutted the components and upgraded the speakers with some donor drivers from a set of Energy 2.1's. Dropped in my U-Turn in place of the original Dual 1210. Discovered the whole Wiim lineup while researching low profile amps for this setup. Perfect fit for the minimalist vibe and streamlined a lot of the tech I was looking to implement. Really impressed with it so far. Primarily an Apple Music / Airplay user day-to-day, but really enjoying the Plex integration at the moment.

Just need to re-arrange the office to somehow make this thing fit.

Looks really nice and minimalistic, congrats for that.. Only concern is wouldn´t your WiiM Amp get too warm/hot by being squeezed in that position?

Thanks. No concerns. It very much open on the other side the 1/8th inch surface you see it popping out from in the image. And the backing of the cabinet has plenty of ventilation. All of the vents on the amp are completely unobstructed. It's honestly probably got better airflow than if it were sitting on a surface as intended.

It is a so nice system.😄👍

You may want to check Amp's CPU temperature just to be sure. You can access this URL by entering Amp's IP address to check the CPU temperature.
https://your device IP address/httpapi.asp?command=getStatusEx

CPU temperature is shown like this.
"temperature_cpu": "36"
"temperature_tmp102": "30"

My Amp is generally below 55C.

This is helpful thanks! Come to think of it, it would be a nice to have feature in the WiiM App device settings, to be able to check the temperature reading directly at the App.

That’s a great status tool! Thanks for sharing.

Temps are solid over here. Pushed it for the last hour and it hasn’t reported anything over 41 and 45.

They could perhaps have an advanced page under device info, but the danger of that is that they might then get questions about why the temperature is what it is, is it too high, should we be concerned etc. Sometimes you’re better off being kept in the dark 😉😂

Isn't that why you want it though, as diagnostics?
