Hi all.

I currently have a Sonos Beam sound bar connected to our TV and a Sonos One speaker in our kitchen. I'm keen to replace these with Wiim devices - probably a Wiim amp in the lounge connected to passive speakers, and for the kitchen we'll get one of the new Wiim Sound (or lite) speakers.

I'm pretty sure that switching from Sonos to Wiim is easily possible, but there's one Sonos feature that we use often that I'd like to replicate with the Wiim system. With our current Sonos system, if the TV is on and streaming audio through the soundbar, somebody in the kitchen can long-press the play button on the kitchen speaker and this will automatically start streaming the TV audio through the kitchen speaker as well as the soundbar.

Is there something similar to this available with Wiim? Both the Wiim Sound and the Wiim Sound Lite appear to have some buttons on top, but I'm unsure if these could be used to trigger a preset that started to share the TV Audio to the speaker? Any ideas?

Thanks - Stuart.

Hi.

Unfortunately, WiiM doesn't have that functionality. For now, WiiM groups must be controlled via the app. You also can't control groups remotely.

One thing you can do currently is keep WiiM Amp and WiiM Sound in a group at all times and keep WiiM Sound muted remotely. Then, only when you want to hear the TV sound in the kitchen, unmute the WiiM Sound. (Note: The WiiM Sound Lite does not come with a remote.)

Once the sound profile feature currently being tested in the WiiM Ultra beta firmware is officially added, I believe you will be able to switch groups using the preset buttons on the remote.
