Multiple devices and alarm issues

Hello everyone!

I have 4 devices connected to the same network, but on different access points (1 mini, 2 pro, and 1 amp). After a lot of effort, I managed to connect all of them and make them work without any issues (I used a fixed IP in the Unifi system).

Now, I have a problem that I can’t solve: I grouped all the devices together (with the lock icon) and set an alarm to play a Spotify playlist every day at a specific time.

Every morning, when I see that all devices are disconnected and only the main one is playing, I try to link them using the chain icon. However, an error message appears saying “Unable to complete this operation.”

All devices have the option to disable standby mode, except for the AMP. I’m not sure if that’s the issue…

The next day, the devices are no longer grouped, and only the main one is playing the music!

They disconnect, and it doesn’t work.

I’m almost giving up on these WiiM devices—I never imagined they would be so terrible for these connections and that I would have so much trouble.

Hi,

Perhaps this is due to the fact that currently we cannot select a persistent group in the Smart presets, SpotifyConnect needs to be connected to a persistent group. According to the support team, this feature will be added soon.

If you want Spotify to play in alarm, I believe you can create a group in Alexa or Google home and use routines (or automation).

Thank you for your help!

What about Amazon Music? I´m trying this now, but its showing the same connection issues

Once an alarm is set on the master device of the group, Amazon music can successfully play the group.

Please try restarting the phone first.

Then try deleting the cache or re-installing the WiiM app on the phone where the device is not showing up.

There is a limit of phones that can control the devices at the same time?
I don't think so. I use 4 phones and a tablet.
