Hey guys, been a while since I posted here. Happy upcoming holidays everyone! I did a present to myself, and almost completely upgraded my setup, but Wiim Ultra is still here))

Streamer: Wiim Ultra -> USB

DAC: Modified Geshelli J3 (with Amanero USB, Sparkos SS2590 op amps and LPS) -> XLR

Preamp: Audiolab 9000Q -> XLR

Power amps: two Audiolab 9000P in bridged mono

Speakers: Buchardt E50

Subs: two REL S/510 (via high level connection)

I have a dedicated treated room for music and cinema, with DIY base traps, absorption and diffusion going on.
My room size:
front wall 3,65meters,
side walls 4,40 meters,
ceiling 2,35 meters

Received the second sub just today, so will be doing some tuning for the coming off days..) so what do you guys think, should I now settle and start listening to music, or there is something I can do even better?) to be honest the Eversolo T8 is looking damn promising…))

If you save the "little plastic tables" that hold your take out pizza box away from the pizza, you can repurpose them as standoffs for the cables that run along the floor (pro tip... wipe off the cheese and sauce)! Only extreme audiophiles will notice that it's not a brand that costs 20 bucks a piece! LOL

Why would you do that (standoffs)? Is it to impress others and what is impressive about it?

I think your system is end-game too! I see you've made some choices that lead me to believe you've either done a very lot of research or you've played this game before (probably both)? Have you tried other streamers and what was the worst?

Where I live I don’t have the privilege of auditioning many hi-fi gear unfortunately, most of my research is based on YouTube, hi-fi forums and recently ChatGPT..)) actually it helped me a lot with my room treatment)

Yes, the only reason I know anything about your speakers is from a YouTube reviewer. Steve Huff? It also seems that you got good, clean power for a very reasonable cost per watt! And your movie screen... Well... That's just awesome!! 👍
I live in the US, and have access to many 30-day or so trials at home. Generally, I have found that once I get something here, I tend to keep it. And in regards to the WIIM Ultra, I fully expected to be sending it back but it's actually the "best part" of my system now.
There are discussions on this site about adding native nugs.net support to WIIM products so we would have better access to higher quality audio while watching videos.. like concert videos! You have an awesome setup for that! I hope you enjoy it for a long time!

Speakers: Ok, so I previously owned the P300 entry level model from Buchardt, also my choice was based on YouTube videos) but actually I have listened to some Polk and BW speakers before that and wasn’t really impressed. Maybe due to the genre of music I mainly listen to (house, techno kind of stuff), where base is king) so P300 was ideal as a starter, and from there the upgrade path was eventually the top of the line model from the same brand))
For the sub, I was actually planning to get a second JL Audio to my existing D108, but I found a really good deal here for the Rel s510 where I live to my surprise, so I couldn’t miss that opportunity.
The pre-power, I was looking for something fully balanced and with enough power to confidently drive the demanding Buchardts, so Audiolab was chosen purely based on good reviews.
Overall I am very pleased with my new setup, it is much more revealing, so it can even highlight any imperfections, thus my next step is to sort out with my noisy electricity at home..))
The DAC and the Wiim Ultra are from my previous system, the DAC I think I have to spend much more money to get a noticeable upgrade over my current. The Ultra I don’t know… maybe down the road I will try the Eversolo or the Audiolab 9000N
