Hey, there, couple of things. I have a WIIM Ultra. Does anyone know if there is a way to stream Neil Young Archives from an an Android phone in hi res 192k? Can't quite seem to find an app that will let me play the music in the app then stream over my wifi to the WIIM Ultra. I used to have an app that could do it (it would record the audio internally then stream it from the recorded flac file to the streamer)

It seems most of the apps I have tried cap out at 44.1 K and 16bits. Thanks.

No idea how to do that from an android phone but 2 volumes are on Qobuz

Sure there is a way I know. You should use USB Audio player Pro. You hve an option to Cast at the left hand side menú. Then you choose your Wiim as UPnp . In Wiim home you'll see It as DLNA castScreenshot_20251115_083729_WiiM Home.jpg

BubbleUPnP is a great option when coupled with MinimServer, but if the content is on device it's hampered by the Android media indexer. For on device content you should look at Symfonium.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but why would you want to "listen" to up-sampled content in a digital intermediate format originally made on (old) analog equipment? I can understand it if they are newly transferred/mixed/mastered tracks but even then you don't need anything that high resolution as the end user (listener)

I hope it is clear that company's selling this kind of content are mostly just trying (and succeeding) to sell people stuff they already paid for previously.

While you're trying, maybe this radio station will help!?

Thanks for trying to help everybody. I think some of you are misunderstanding what I am trying to do. Neil Young has an archive site called www.neilyoungarchives.com

Nearly all the content on there is remastered to legit 192k 24 bit from the original reels. The Android app for his site can stream these hi res files. What I am trying to see here is if there is another android streaming app like air music or bubble pnp that will allow me to cast Neil app to my wiim ultra in the same resolution as the Neil young archives app. Bubble pnp seems to only do it at 48 khz not 96 or 192.

Thx!

You have to find the url address and paste it in the "open network streaming" in the browse listings but it's beyond me tbh

What settings do you need in the UApp app for it to capture the audio from the NYA app? I can see where to choose a WiiM device to cast to but not what to cast

You can choose what to play Tidal, Qobuz, from local folders like your mobile or yours home network like your NAS, SMB folders...
Once playing you can cast!

But how does that help me if I’m playing from the Neil Young Archives app? How does it capture its audio to then cast?

A long time ago, I used AirMusic and had a good experience with it. Unfortunately, I can't remember if there are any restrictions regarding resolution/frequency. But I do remember that the developer was very helpful. It might be a good idea to ask him in advance:

support@airmusic.app

Aivailable at the Playstore

Sorry about that, my mistake.
For casting from another app wirelessly, capturing the audio, I only know of BubbleUpnp

Yes it is restricted to 48kHz. Don't know of any app to stream at higher quality, capturing audio from another app.

Neil Young Archives, Vol. I, II and III, are available 24-bit/192 kHz in Tidal and Qobuz. Maybe in other services are available as well.
