So I can't connect the amp to my lousy phone. There is no gear icon for settings and half the time it won't even connect at all. The only wifi I have is on my house router and on the phone but that doesn't do anything. Should I use only BT to connect to the amp with my phone and phone 5G to get updates? I really think it should have onboard wifi and connect to my house router...that makes sense....whats the best way?

Which amp? WiiM Amp or WiiM Amp Pro support WiFi and Bluetooth. Either iOS or Android can easily control the streamer in the amp and playback. You need to have a local WiFi signal to which both phone and amp are connected to.
