Hello everyone!

I have been using my wiim ultra with a wiim vibelink amp for over two months now. Everything was working fine until now and I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately I have noticed a few days ago that no sound was coming from the right speaker.
I have tried a few things in order to find a solution myself, including:

- checking the balance through the wiim amp as it could have mistakingly been moved entirely to the left speak, but that wasn't the case.
- unplugging the right speaker and plugged it into the left out, and the sound was coming out off the speaker.
- plugging in the left speaker into the right out, and no sound was coming out off the speaker.
- rebooting the wiim ultra, unplugged the whole setup and replugged it but no sound was still coming out off the right speaker.

It seems like I can rule out any issue with the right speaker itself or with the cable. But I'm totally lost. Did you encounter this kind of issue? What can I do to resolve it?

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

First, please try resetting the Vibelink. You can reset it by pressing and holding the power button on the rear panel for 10 seconds. Also, connect the WiiM app and Vibe via Bluetooth and check for updates.

If this does not resolve the issue, connect the Ultra and Vibelink using an RCA cable and try swapping the left and right RCA plugs. If sound still does not come from the right speaker in either case, the problem is likely with the Vibelink. If not, there may be an issue with the Ultra.

I recommend submitting a ticket via the feedback section in the WiiM app.
(WiiM home > More > Feedback)

Your device logs will be sent, which will help resolve the issue.

You didn't say how the Ultra is connected to the Vibelink. If via analog RCA cables check to.see if the plugs are fully inserted. Also try switching left and right on the RCA or using a different cable.

Thank you for everyone's help!

The ultra is connected to the vibelink via optical.

I've reset the vibelink and connected an RCA cable instead of the optical one. It didn't fix the issue, it bizarrely switched it: now no sound is coming out of the left speaker but only from the right one. It's baffling!

Unfortunately I have no device that I could connect to the vibelink via line right now.

Anyway I'm going to send a ticket through the app.

Thanks again for your insight!

Aha, try swapping the rca plugs on the back of the Vibelink over and see if the silent channel moves over to the other side again. If it does there is nothing wrong with the Vibelink and the Ultra is missing one channel and is the fault/problem. You also say that you don't have any other line level device to check but maybe you have a phone with headphone output or headphone dongle with the correct cable...?

As other members have already mentioned, if changing from an optical connection to an RCA connection resulted in no sound from the left speaker, I believe the issue lies with the Ultra.

Support team may suggest rebooting or resetting the device, but please try these steps in addition to the suggestions from other members.

1) Unplug the Ultra's power cable, wait a moment, then plug it back in (reboot).

2) You mentioned you've already checked the balance settings in the WiiM app, but please verify them again.

You can also move the slider left or right, adjust the volume, or press the balance reset button to see how the output sound changes.

3) Before trying a factory reset, please verify which data will be lost. If necessary, save any relevant information such as screenshots. (PEQ, RoomFit profiles, Music added to favorites, presets, various audio settings etc.. )
