With so many internet radio brands around, is wiim the very best around? What about sangean, tecsun, grundig, ect... for people who live outside the u.s. who wanna listen to fm stations at home and not portable radios! Something user friendly and simple to use...

Not sure what your intention really is.

WiiM is more that just a "brand" (unlike many others). There's the power of a well known OEM named Linkplay behind it. Also, WiiM devices are not just "internet radios". In fact, they are pretty much not that.

Wiim devices are user friendly and simple to use though. So what exactly is your question?

Not at all user friendly but by far the most flexible music streamer is a Raspberry Pi.

However in terms of fully manufactured devices the WiiMs are the most flexible by some margin.

That’s obviously my opinion but I feel that it is objective not subjective

Well i live in canada and wanna listen to fm radio stations that play all the new music like country, hip hop, rock, latin, ect... from chicago maybe houston or los angeles im looking for something nice but easy to use to connect to maybe wifi at home which already has preset database and like automatically detects and finds fm stations like a car radio which automatically scans for stations that are audible to listen to... it doesnt have to be extremely expensive, fancy, ect... how many internet radio device brands exist sold across the world?

Internet Radio doesn’t work like FM. You can’t scan. You choose from a menu.

What about desktop pc instead of phone/tablet? Bluetooth or airplay to my stereo?
No, there isn’t a pc version which is a pity as it has an interesting interface - it uses a Google earth globe that you can spin round and select stations by location.

It’s the closest you’ll get to scanning - otherwise you’re left with some menu system to select a station. Try TuneIn on your PC and see how that suits.
