Optical Input iPhone volume control

Hi just got a wiim pro - all good great little streamer using coax out to my speakers

I mainly stream Spotify from my iPhone and volume works well there - when I use iPhone volume buttons the little wii icon appears and it works well

With TV however - optical input into the wiim - the volume control doesn’t work when the app is closed. The iPhone volume slider icon goes up and down but no effect

I have to open the app each time I want to change TV volume which is a bit annoying. With the app open - the iPhone hardware buttons work fine as well as the app slider.

Any setting I can do in the wiim app or iPhone settings?

I have a remote control on the way anyway but still would like to fix this small quirk

Maybe submit a ticket direct to WiiM thru the feedback section in the WiiM home app and see if they have a view on this

I thought to share what fixed my issue . I eventually got rid of the issue by uninstalling certain video calling apps.
