I think they shouldn't develop speakers. That's a completely different thing than electronic devices and basically is bound to fail.

MrSoul4470 - bound to fail? Oh ye of little faith! I suspect you are correct that they are very different - speakers vs. electronic components...but perhaps WiiM could partner with some speaker subject-matter-experts or even hire some?

Personally I guess the market for this kind of toys is already overcrowded and all the needs can be fulfilled..

A speaker is needed so that we can have more simple setups in the bathroom, bedroom or patio. How is that covered today if I want to enter the WiiM multiroom instead of for example Sonos? Is there any speaker I can use without adding an extra WiiM-box?

Any updates on this? Is the Sound humidity resistant? Would not put it in the rain.. but outside.

I'd say the WiiM Sound smart speaker is designed primarily for indoor use and I haven't seen a IP protection rating quoted anywhere for it.

What a great idea! I lost a Bose speaker that spent a night out in the rain. Since it's nice to have some portable music outside, our `go to` device right now the the Tritbit Stormbox2 which eats rain for lunch.
