Please add a possibility to pair a WiiM Ultra, without the needed to use Bluetooth.
Connected to the same Wifi, or better even same Network, using IP or MAC address.
Thank you.

What pairing do you think about?

Only the remote uses Bluetooth.

I cannot pair any Smartphone with the WiiM Ultra, without initially activating Bluetooth.
After the pairing, Bluetooth is no longer required.

Really? That should not be necessary.

The initial connection is done via WiFi access directly to the WiiM Ultra. It will open its own access point when in setup mode. Your phone will connect to that and set the network parameters to connect to same network as your phone.

Yes. After that, if I pair another iPhone/android, it says: please activate Bluetooth.
Or else it won't find the the WiiM Ultra.
Once the WiiM is found, you no longer need Bluetooth activated.

After the initial setup there is no such thing as paring the phone with a WiiM Ultra. Your phone just needs to be on the same network as that WiiM and the WiiM Home App will discover it using uPnP.

Any phone with the WiiM Home App installed on same network can see the WiiM Ultra.

Maybe you are mixing up playing via Bluetooth to the WiiM and connecting the WiiM Home App?

Mine asks for activation of Bluetooth for finding wiim 🤔

It doesn't look like the WiiM Home App?

I have never seen that in the app. The WiiM Vibelink amplifier do however use Bluetooth, as it doesn't have network connection.

Are you sure your phone is on the same network as the WiiM?

Wiim Home App, freshly installed on IPhone, which has never been used before.
It wants to activate Bluetooth just for finding devices. (WiiM Ultra)

I have never seen that before. I don't have an iPhone but it is not necessary with any phone as long it's on the same network as the WiiM.

Do the WiiM Home App work if you turn on the Bluetooth?

Ok. That must be a iPhone thing
Working fine without Bluetooth on Android.
I have no Android left, to test on.
The one I am using, asked for activation as well, but it was the first one using to install and setup Wiim Ultra. So it made sense to activate bluetooth on my Android (main controller).

The WiiM Ultra don't use Bluetooth for setup or control. So really strange.

Newsflash...
I just tried out again that new iPhone.
Deleted and reinstalled...
Turned off Bluetooth before installing WiiM App.

It asks for Bluetooth activation, in total 2 times.
Once for setting up WIIM ultra.
Second for searching for already available devices.

Since it was deactivated beforehand, and despite choosing NO* on every activation request, the new iPhone finds the WiiM Ultra with no problems...
> so choosing Bluetooth_On is just a request, not a requirement.
👍
Still wondering why it insists desperately to activate it, if it is not required.
And why does my older device (iPhone6) not find it, without activating...

At least my problem is solved right now.
👍

You sure?
I'd swear I've had to enable bluetooth for all my (streaming) wiims for initial setup.
Yes. Sure . At least when I did the setup 6 months ago.

I don't see why it should be used (except for the Vibelink). All is done via WiFi.

You can see the SSID and MAC used by the initial WiFi access point in the Device Info page

That's my recollection too - I presumed it needed bluetooth access for initial discovery and setup but not after that. Frankly, I don't see it as an issue...
