I have added a large collection of music files, and then deleted some links. Somehow Ultra has retained all of the artwork.
I am using my laptop and the beta app.

  1. I have deleted and reinstalled the app
  2. I have deleted the cache in the in Users folder
  3. I have performed a factory reset on the Ultra
  4. I have rescanned all links to the music files
  5. Deleted Wiim entries in Prefetch
  6. Also restarted the laptop more than once

However the artwork remains, I cannot get rid of it unless I am missing something?

Where do you store your music collection? On your laptop? On a USB storage key or hard drive? Somewhere else?

What do you mean by deleting "links"?

How and on which device so you navigate to any place showing the artwork of something that's been deleted?

Sorry, all this isn't clear.to me from your description. Depending on your answers the possible reasons can be very different.

Music collection is stored on laptop and the main repository on a USB connected harddrive (8Tb capacity)

Links are dropped folders in the WiiM app in My Music page. Deletion is from this location using the "dustbin" icon on the right

If I go to the desktop app and click on left column under Library/ Albums or Artists the artwork shows here.

I would check whether there is an old database (*.db) lying around somewhere, rename it (like *.db_old) and perform a new scan (I'm not sure, could be the name "musiclibrary.db"?).
Before doing this, look (search function) for a folder on the installation drive that contains *.jpg files and check whether there are any old covers here.
It is important to set the explorer to show all hidden files, (you can undo this afterwards).
Doesn't must help, but would be a further approach...😉

Thanks for your follow up, I've been looking for other DB entries however my laptop is full of them (its a work thing)

I've been in touch with WiiM Support their initial suggestion was to delete the folder C:\Users\ianhe\AppData\Local\cache\com.linkplay.wiimhome\cover
I'd done this previously, however did it again but no change, then;

Looking further down the AppData folder I found a folder WiiM Home and a Db in the folder Beets Plug. I had noticed it previously but because of its location I'd left it alone.
Deleted that Db and the unwanted artwork has gone.
Other artwork relating to existing music folder links remains.
