Persistent groups are too persistent?

I'm not sure if this by design or an anomally:

1. Wiim Amp Pro in Family room with ethernet connection and HDMI connected to TV (Auto Sensing of HDMI = Enabled, Use HDMI Audio Only = Disabled)
2. Turning TV on works as expected and auto switches Wiim Amp to HMDI, TV sound through Wiim Amp
3. Wiim Pro in Kitchen with WiFi
4. Create a persistent group "Main" = "Famliy Room" + "Kitchen", Group lead device = "Family Room"
5. From Spotify select Main, works as expected music plays through group
6. From Spotify select Family Room, works as expected music plays only in Family room (group is unlinked)
7. From Spotify select Main again, works as expected
8. Stop playing Spotify
9. Turn TV on, doesn't work as expected, TV sound plays through group (group is not unlinked).

I expected the group to unlink when the Family room input auto switched to HDMI, like it did in step 6 when I started playing spotify to the Family room.

Is there a way to make this work?

Welcome.

I'm expecting it's because the last thing you did in 7 was play to the Main group, so that's what's still active when the amp switches to hdmi.
If you were to play something else via the wiim app on the amp (i.e. not a 'connect' where you choose a target) then it would go to the group too.

Hi
Please change the lead device in the "Main" group to WiiM pro and perform the same operational test.

As @Mr Ee mentioned, the group remains intact even if the input on the leader device switches (even if the source changes). However, the group is dissolved if the input on a follower device switches.
