Place to buy the Wiim Sound instead of Amazon?

Hello,

I'm just trying to find somewhere, for U.S. delivery, to get the Wiim Sound. The only places I can find it are Amazon, a German website that adds $130 to the price (not counting shipping), and some EBay listings with $100+ shipping from Europe. I've managed to avoid using Amazon for over a decade and don't plan to cave.

Will it be for sale through any other outlets? It's new enough that I'm not seeing any used ones.

It also seems ridiculous that it is so hard to find an alternative seller in the US. It would be easy in the UK.

We're working to bring WiiM devices to even more physical and online retailers. You can find a list of all our partners with retail stores here. In the future, we're hoping to see WiiM at some if not all of the largest distributors of audio gear out there.

Well it seems daft to make things difficult for yourself.

I think I have to respect other people's opinions. I don't necessarily agree with this at the moment (or rather, I don't give it much thought), but there are certainly plenty of good reasons not to want to support amazon... But that would just lead to another endless discussion

Perhaps you should contact the WiiM Support directly to inquire whether there is an alternative source of supply available for you.

I've contacted them a couple times and they haven't responded :-/

There's a guy who works for them who is really active on their subreddit that I was gonna hit up.

Like everyone else, you've likely at some point made a decision around your morals that made your life harder as a result, and still felt like it was worth it. For me that thing is not using Amazon. Given that until this point it has only minimally increased the hassle or cost of buying things, while also helping me buy less and not get scammed by the massive amounts of fake/cheap crap on Amazon, it certainly doesn't feel daft to me at all.

Just like your life would have moved on just fine without the need to provide a suggestion that missed my point before calling me daft, so too will mine move on if I don't get this speaker. Either I get a great speaker eventually or I save $300, all good either way.
