Play local FLAC files from a Chromebook

Hi,

Just dipped my toe into Wiim products. I am fine with Qobuz Connect streaming to my new Wiim Pro.

I have a collection of FLACs on a Chromebook and want to send these to the Wiim Pro.

The first road block is getting the Wiim app to run on the Chromebook, an Acer Chromebook Plus 515. It has installed but when running, it sits on the startup Splash screen.

I went down the option of testing some local FLACs on an Android phone. It worked but I am not convinced I am understanding playlist creation correctly. I would like to multi select some albums and add them to a playlist....all my effort so far suggests files need to be added to a playlist track by track.

Even if I get Wiim app running on the Chromebook, would I still need to add each track to a playlist, rather than by album?

Thank you in advance for any insight you can share.

Welcome.

As you have an android phone maybe a better approach might be to get a media server running on the chromebook and use the phone to control the wiim?
I know next to nothing about chromebooks, but it seems that some android media server apps ought to be able to be installed on them.
e.g. bubbleupnp, jellyfin, plex.
You might also find that using something other than the wiim app on the phone gives you the level of playlist control you want.

A Google search implies foobar200 can be installed on a chromebook from the app store, so you could possibly use that to send music to the wiim.

Maybe have a play around while waiting for someone who actually knows something to reply :)

As hard as it is to believe, that is the current state of playlist management in the WiiM Home App!

Use Symfonium instead.

Using Minim Server I was able to add complete albums to a playlist in the WHA the other day.
I can add an album to the queue but not a playlist. Maybe it's only available on iOS?

EDIT: Individual albums can be added in "Advanced" mode or via My Music > Local, but there isn't the ability to select multiple albums as requested.

Indeed. It was a queue, not a playlist. I don't use either very much, so I tend to mix them up.
