Hello

Please help. I bought a vibelink. I connected it to WiiM ultra with an optical connector. The sound is terrible, flat without bass. Distorted. It plays very quietly despite increasing the volume to maximum in vibelink.

The previous Fosi audio amplifier bought for 1/3 of that price, the player is really good on the same Wilson Raptor 5 speakers.

So what is the Ultra volume as a number from 1-100?

How do you connect your speakers? Banana plugs, bare wire or spades? Are you sure that no wires are shorted anywhere?

If you assume that your WiiM Vibelink Amp is faulty, you should use the WiiM Home app to send feedback to WiiM directly (tab More => Feedback). This feedback will contain the device logs of your WiiM Ultra. If the Vibelink Amp was really defective, there probably won't be any indication in the logs, though.

What you observe is not normal behaviour, of course. The WiiM Ultra combined with the WiiM Vibelink Amp should play very loud and clear.

Turn down the Vibelink volume. Play Kraftwerk or Yello with the Ultra volume control at 100. Turn up the Vibelink until your speakers can’t take no more. Leave the Vibelink volume control alone and turn down the volume on the Ultra. Does it still sound wrong?
