Pre Volume Out for separate output.

Hello everyone,

My house currently has a multiroom audio system but it is a bit outdated and some of the parts are failing so I am looking to replace it with WiiMs but have a potential problem. Two of the zones in my house have speakers that are volume controlled by the current system while also having a sub zone controlled by a inline knob. I am trying to figure out if there is anyway to use one of the WiiM's where one of its outputs volumes will be controlled by the phone and the other output stay at a constant level so I can still use my inline volume control. The two outputs would go into existing amps that go to the speakers. Thanks

WiiM devices only support one active output at a time, if I follow what you’re trying to do.

Yeah that’s kind of what I’m figuring, I was just trying to figure out if I could use the Sub out as a second out and have the volume just stay at one level for it.

My Ultra feeds this Douk Audio Q11 DAC, which has two active RCA outputs, it could fit your needs and it's budget friendly.

Certainly not a downgrade from Ultra's own output, how much of an "upgrade" in SQ is questionable but I like it.

The novelty feature, or silly idea perhaps, is switchable AKM and ESS chips. If you prefer one, it can feed both RCAs. Or you can feed one RCA with AKM and the other with ESS, if that's of any use.

P.S. Just realised you want different volume output on each RCA, which this won't do.

Yeah I am trying to keep it as one zone but it seems the only route is to get another WiiM and just not ever change the volume in the app or keep the physical knob at 100% and use the app.
