Presets - frustrations or wish list

I am relatively new to Wiim (my Duets finally died) so my frustration with presets may be due to me. But currently, my presets always return to the first track after a timeout or pressing the standby on the remote. I may be going crazy, but I did not notice that result before the latest firmware update. So, if I set a time limit I only hear the same songs (in the same order) each time. It seemed that a few weeks ago (before the firmware update) it would restart where it left off. Of course, you can delete the songs in the queue and turn the random playback button off and on to re-randomize to get around this problem, but that requires use of the app which frankly is inconvenient (as opposed to just clicking the preset button on the remote). So, that's my first frustration. My second frustration is the randomization process. The process of re-randomizing is too much work (I want tech to work for me, I don't want to work for my tech). It would be very nice if every time you hit a preset it would re-randomize automatically (assuming you have the preset set to shuffle). I guess I would really like at least one of the two: restart where you left off or re-randomize automatically.

One more thing while I'm venting. It would be nice if there was a nice fade in the music when hitting the standby on the remote or reaching a timeout. Right now the sound just cuts violently (my old Duets had a nice fade).

Also - all of this refers to my scenario, which involves playing music from my NAS (some of these things might be different when using music services).

Let me know if I'm missing something that allows these features (which is very possible).

Aren't you still using LMS with the WiiM?

No, I'm not using LMS now. I'm using Synology Audio Station. But I'm pretty sure that doesn't matter. Although I have moved my playlists to the NAS, I got the same results when setting up the playlists in the Wiim App. The fact that Wiim playlists are device specific was another negative issue that I have overcome.

What's your WiiM?

Have you enabled Fade-in & Fade-out Effects in the Audio Settings in the WiiM Home App?

Hi

To resume playback from where you left off, press the play button on the remote. Playback will resume from the last track you listened to.

As I recall, presets save the active queue and re-instate that anew when you select the preset, so will always start again. As @Wiimer says, hitting play should work as that’s just resuming where it left off, not reloading the queue.

Thanks for the feedback! Wiimer you solved my major frustration. I feel better now.

As far as the fade, yes - I have the fade in and out effects selected. Apparently, that is just for clicks and pops between tracks. So that issue still exists, but it is relatively minor.

I have 5 Wiims - 4 pros and the cheaper wifi device. That's a good point. The Ultra may be different.
