When I have my laptop connected to the Bluetooth input but I am actively listening via the WiFi input the amp switches to Bluetooth every time the play queue on the WiFi input ends. How can I stop this happening short of disconnecting the laptop? Even after disconnecting the laptop it often reconnects.

Could be the laptop forcing reconnection - can you turn off its Bluetooth when not in use?

That is probably the answer 👍. If I just disconnect it, it reconnects every time it comes out of sleep with the accompanying beep.

I recently connected my pc via Bluetooth and found the same problem with the wiim ultra.
When i am listening to another input like wifi or analog it switches to Bluetooth and back when my pc is starting or shutting down, even when another output device is selected for my pc.
Would be better if you can disable the automatic switching to the Bluetooth input and only do it manually...

Does it actually switch or just beep to tell you Bluetooth has connected? That is just as annoying.

It is at least the connect and disconnect sound, even when the bluetooth connection is not actively used it switches to it.
This makes it useless for me as a pre amplifier if the ultra switches inputs as it likes...

@WiiM Support @WiiM Team @RyanWithWiim When a Bluetooth device connects to the Ultra or the WiiM Amp does it really need to play the connection beep through the speakers even when you are listening to another source?

I also sent a ticket for this, hope the explanation is clear enough...
Lets hope it can be changed, otherwise I cannot use bluetooth in my case.
Switich it on and off wont work because of other bluetooth devices that are connected to my PC.

It also switches on the Ultra and connected power amplifier when it connects.
Now I know why my system was on without me doing this on purpose.

Unfotunately the feedback from WIIM was to disable bluetooth connections to prevent it.
So Bluetooth connection sounds do have priority over other sources, and even over standby.

Up to now I was so happy with my Ultra and the support...
Hopefully they find a moment to improve this functionality, up to then no bluetooth for me.

I've checked in with the team and basically heard the same thing Audiohome did, the best thing right now is to disconnect the Bluetooth when it's not needed so it doesn't auto-reconnect. The "beep" indicating that the connection has been made takes priority to anything that's playing. The team is going to look into this for the future to determine if there's anything that can be done, but I can't make any promises that it'll happen. I'll let you know if I hear anything though.

Hi RyanWithWiim, Team

Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

The short answer is: We'll fix it! Let me push our team to find a way to handle this use case. Please stay tuned!

I was too early with the good news.
One part is solved: switching for the connect and disconnect sounds (as mentioned in the release notes).

Now again my audio system is powered for no reason because a bluetooth device connected but is not playing.

So the second part is not solved (yet), it still switches to bluetooth when another source was active.
It is an autodetect or auto sensing on Bluetooth that needs to get a switch setting to be disabled.
Please make it the same as for other sources as line-in, optical and HDMI that already have this switch.

So an enable/disable auto sensing option for all possible inputs, casting, streams and so on.
Hope you can and will release this as well in a future version!

Auto reconnecting is definitely still a problem but I found its actually device specific. Two different Bluetooth receivers I had lying around both auto reconnect with the WIIM Ultra even if I have audio playing through another line out source. But when I use my WIIM Mini as a Bluetooth receiver, it does not auto reconnect with my WIIM Ultra. Regardless WIIM needs to add a togglable option to not accept a reconnection attempts when another output source other then Bluetooth is selected.

Or at the very least make a togglable option that if a Bluetooth device reconnects it does not auto switch the output back to Bluetooth!

I have also confirmed the problem persists as of today. A simple Bluetooth off switch would solve it, why WiiM refuses to implement this"fix" is mystery.
