Do you also need to signiificantly increase volume level when doing correction through USB Out? I have to turn up the volume more than twice to get a similar sound level to when listening to music.

However, when I do auto SYNC between the speakers and the subwoofer, this problem does not occur. So its happening only when doing RC.

Or maybe it's normal and doesn't only happen when sending a signal via USB to another DAC, and it's the same when the Wiim is connected further directly via RCA?

I haven't understood your configuration in exact, but I send digital output via USB to external DAC and the level is pretty the same with our without RC. Note I have locked output level at 100% in Ultra and I do all volume assignments on my amplifier.

Question -- have you compared the specs on the output level of the external DAC you're using to that put out by the Ultra's internal DAC? Not all devices put out the same voltage level at their line-out jacks.

My normal listening level is 60% volume limit and around 50% volume.

I need to use 80% volume limit and around 90% volume level to properly run RC, otherwise is too queit.

The last time I tried RC was when I wasn't using an external DAC - a few months ago. I think that back then the RC volume level was very close to the volume level when listening to music, and there was no need to increase the volume so significantly.

It's not a problem to increase volume, It just seems weird to me, and I was wondering if this is normal.

My external DAC has 2Vrms RCA and 4Vrms XLR output. DAC is used in the fixed volume. I use Pre in Wiim.

I run RC and listen music trough external DAC. What is the point to udnerstand DAC outpout vs line out output of Wiim? I don't use Wiim line output at all.

I could check whether the situation changes if I start using only line out, without extrernal DAC, but I decided to ask you because in my case it would involve rearranging furniture and searching for cables in the basement.

So... Has anyone noticed that the volume durinig the RoomCorrection is significantly lowered when using an external DAC vs when listeninig music?

"What's the point" is that your original complaint was that the USB out from the WiiM wasn't at the same volume as RCA out. Your recent post suggests that's not the case, so you've left me confused as to exactly what you're talking about.

I was just giving you something to check out as a possible cause of what you described in your first post Sounds like that is not the issue in this case. Since my suggestion doesn't seem to be the issue, other possibilities include some quirk on how your external DAC processes USB input, or some settings change you've made in the WiiM. The Ultra has a lot of setting options. However, since you say you can reach your desired listening level, albeit with the volume control at a different position, if it were me I'd quit worrying about it and just enjoy the music.

I apologize if I was rude by accident, it was unintentional
