I received an email yesterday letting me know of a 3 months for 1 month deal that ends on December 2nd if anyone is interested

It’s only for new users (in the small print) which is annoying as I only got the email due to being a previous subscriber so it’s useless to me and feels a bit bait and switch but there you go. If you’re considering trying roon then now would be a good time to try

Received this mail too and as a Roon user for very long asked me the same question. Could be they want exactly what you and now I ;-) did, mentioning the deal. Also I know a few people which are not subscribers, but registered for the forum or newsletters. Or they want only to have an own bf offer ;-)
