Set up issue with Wiim Mini and Audio Pro A10

Hi there,

I've just attempted to make the following set up:

Old HiFi tape output --(wired)--> Wiim Mini --(wireless multiroom)--> Audio Pro A10 MkII W

But what I get from the A10 is a very tiny high pitched noise which is recognisably my music source sped up. (Some issue with sample rates???)

I am using the Wiim app which recognises both the Wiim Mini and the A10, I have linked them so they play the same audio and also created a group with both units in (not sure how that's different, or if it's necessary to do both). I have verified that my source is entering the Wiim Mini because when I plug headphones into its aux out I can hear the source fine. I have selected source as 'aux in' on the Wim Mini and as 'wireless/Wifi' on the A10.

I've separately confirmed the A10 works fine with a bluetooth connection from a phone.

I'm not quite sure what else to look at to get this working. Can anyone spot any mistake I've made in this set up, or direct me towards potentiual solutions?

The Audio Pro A10 is NOT the Wiim edition, but I read online that it would still do multiroom from the Wiim Mini.

Many thanks

Hi

Link the A10 to the Mini and create a group with the Mini as the leader. Next, when you play TuneIn Radio on the Mini, can you hear sound properly from the A10?

Thanks for your reply!

Yes in that case the set up works fine. It just seems to be the audio in that will not broadcast to the A10 correctly.

Thanks.

I would like to check again,
when I plug headphones into its aux out I can hear the source fine
Is this during group playback?
So during group playback, the Mini played the tape input sound normally, but only the A10 played noise?

Maybe it's because the Mini has fewer resources, but can you try the following?

  1. Please turn off the EQ on both the Mini and A10. (On the Mini, you need to turn off the EQ for the AUX input.)
  2. Try audio sync on the Mini.
  3. Unplug the power cables from both the Mini and A10, leave them disconnected for a while, then reconnect them.

If the issue persists, please also try the following test steps:

  1. Create a group with the A10 as the leader.
  2. Connect the tape out to the A10's AUX input.
  3. Play the group and verify sound is heard normally from both the A10 and Mini.

If this works correctly, the issue is likely with the Mini.
I recommend submitting a ticket via the WiiM app's feedback section. (Other > Feedback)
Device logs will be sent, which will assist in resolving the issue.
