Hi all

Only me again :)

Just another quickie - I have my QA B12 Subwoofer and I've connected it all up and it sounds great. The walls shook when I did the room correction bit with the sounds lol
Anyhoo, which is better, and why - connecting the sub to the sub out on the back of the Ultra or the sub out on the back of the M20 Active Speakers?

Appreciate the help as ever as I navigate my way through this ever complicated journey of Audio Logistics!!

I am mainly confused about the crossover point - QA says it should be set all the way round to AV but some places I read that it should be set to a certain point depending on the Frequency range of my M20's - some even say just turn it up and down and see what feels right - oh I'm soooo confused!!
Thought I'd post this info:

M20 frequencies:
  • Frequency response 55Hz - 22kHz
  • Crossover frequency 2.4kHz
Sub frequencies
  • Frequency range: 28 Hz - 300 Hz
  • Crossover frequency range: 40Hz – 250Hz
But ultimately, out of the Ultra or out of the M20's??

Many thanks guys.

If you use the WiiM Ultra for volume control and cross over settings, then use the WiiM sub output.

You can search for Subwoofer articles in the FAQ page via the WiiM Home App "More" tab. These explain how it all works.

Hey Hgo - thanks again :)

Yup, that's how I've set it up for now, but there is also the option to set it up coming out of the M20 master speaker, as one of the things it says is "if you are using it with QA speakers then do xyz - which one would yield the better results do you think?

I am thinking the WiiiM mainly due to the audio options within the app and the available settings.... but I've no idea :)

I will have a look at the articles mentioned, but it goes waaaaay over my head :'(

I have M20 speakers and I connect my sub woofer to the sub out on the speaker. If connected to the sub out of the Wiim Ultra, you should not use the M20 remote to alter volume, it cannot change the volume of the sub woofer. Hope this helps.

Hey, thanks for the reply - yup, gotcha. This is why I connected it to Wiim at first so that I can control everything from there (act as the master if you like) - I'm so glad I only have three bits of kit in my set up, if I had a separate amp, DAC, CD Player etc I think I'd throw it all in the bin and get meself a Ruark R410 (which I considered first off lol)

Thanks again.... I'll have a play after lunch.
