Sonos or Apple speaker pair and stereo seperation

Hi all, have a wiim mini and a Pro Plus and slowly building a proper multi room setup. But for starters -

Has anyone tried to stream via Airplay to a stereo pairing of Sonos speakers or Apple pods (paired via their own internal apps)? Do we still get the same stereo separation as set up via the Sonos app or Apple Home, or does the wiim just streams the same sound to the speakers as if its just a multi room setup?

I’d say more like a multi room setup as the WiiM devices won’t be aware of what may have been setup in a different ecosystem

Yes that's what I'm afraid of. I I mainly listen to CD'sbut sometimes stream radio or music video. But for the living room, I do want a to maintain the stereo separation but was hoping for a more modern approach due to space and setting.
