Spotify Spotify Lossless is here, it's official!

"Essentially, the higher the number of both [bit depth, sample rate], the higher the audio quality."
Sigh.
Yet again, someone who doesn't actually understand digital audio yet presents such statements as fact.

Edit: and then I read to the end of the article, saw who wrote it and wasn't surprised...

Hi,

I only have Amazon music, but I can't hear any difference. Sorry, I don't do a lot of comparisons so I can't help you..

Anyway, Spotify is the most comfortable app for me, so I feel good.

Thanks for coming to JP.
Please come back again someday😄
I already had Amazon Music and except for the interface, the sound quality is comparable to Qobuz/Tidal. So thank you very much, this already helps me.

I hope to return to Japan, I miss the kindness and respect of the people and kombini 😀 (or how the Japanese improved what belonged to the Americans before). I am happy that Couche Tard (company where I come from Quebec) is not acquired 7eleven 😉

Honestly, this is the one controversial sentence I'd carry about the least, because it is generally correct. It just doesn't matter here. :)

There's so much more BS to be found in this article (like CD quality is adequate for listening on your phone, how generous!), I won't waste any more of my lifetime on it.

As has been mentioned before, in order to comply with Spotify Connect’s eSDK UI guidelines WiiM devices don’t/shouldn’t display the bitrate.
Almost seems that Spotify is acting like they have something to hide...

I have had 3 updates to spotify Android in the last 2 weeks!
I am now on version no. 9.0.82.1032
I still have no lossless option, despite restarting my phone and logging out and back in!
Does anyone with this version number have lossless?? maybe I am doing something wrong?

It's not the app version number, but the enablement of the user - it's done centrally. You have already the capability, just turned off.

Well I am getting an email every day to update my payment settings but I have never subscribed sigh
Hopefully the hype will die down soon and the scammers will find something else
