It looks like it will finally start Spotify Hifi
.

That would be great newsIt looks like it will finally start Spotify Hifi.
Well, at least three people including me, will gladly pay the additional chargesAdditional 6 on top of the original subscription just to get higher quality sound would not fly since hifi is already included to vast majority of streaming services. Majority of subscribers would sign up whatever the cheapest service available. Even without hifi on Spotify, it doesn’t affect the company because vast majority are casual listeners.
Make that four! As much as I like Qobuz and their dedication to hi-res and better pay for artists, Spotify just wins when it comes to usability. And since I will never get the rest of the family off Spotify, being able to get everything in one place sounds good to me.Well, at least three people including me, will gladly pay the additional charges.
Will Spotify hifi be sound higher quality than those offer from tidal and qoboz? The only thing people would pay for this is the extra bell and whistle of buying tickets, remixing tools and hifi. I will give a qoboz a try once the connect becomes available to general public.Well, at least three people including me, will gladly pay the additional charges.
CD quality is good enough for me. Tidal is not in my country, Qobuz is not bad, but the search is not as accurate as Spotify and also it is difficult to find young artists I like. Will Spotify hifi be sound higher quality than those offer from tidal and qoboz? Convenient. I have yet to hear high resolution loseless that will make me say wow. I feel they were just upsampled from their cd that contain no additional info. It might be different if they were native 24/192. Even if I find cd on those songs, I don’t have cd player and I’m not intended to buy one either. I just want open point and click. What I want to see maybe they may that it can read my mind what my next song would play. That I would buy.CD quality is good enough for me. I believe you only listen to six songs, why do you need streaming?![]()
On the streaming services one will discover more due to the algorithm..ai will help.. subscription securedCD quality is good enough for me. Tidal is not in my country, Qobuz is not bad, but the search is not as accurate as Spotify and also it is difficult to find young artists I like.

WiiM have previously said it should just work - or at least that they'll be on top of things once it happens.Let’s see if it actually arrives ”LATER THIS YEAR” as Spotify is notoriously bad at estimating dates
Also, I wonder if all Spotify Connect implementations would require updates to support the higher quality…. Thats a whole other issues in itself.
Totally agree here.. Started with Spotify free over 11 yrs ago.. then moved to Google Music which "morphed" into Youtube Music - great library but crappy sound... Then onto Apple Music looking for better integration with Apple devices and better sound.. until I bought my 1st WiiM.. Transferred my 25+ playlists to Tidal....Happy with Tidal. I think I'll stay here until I die, unless the company/service dies firstI abandoned Spotify long ago, after having been their user for years. Unacceptable to have lossy music in 2025. As far as I am concerned they have irretrievably missed the last train. Why should I pay Spotify more than Qobuz or Tidal for the same quality? For the bells and whistles of buying tickets I don't intend to buy? No, thanks.
I admit one of their strengths, the App and the catalogue, where you can actually find albums that the others don't have. An example? The most obscure Prog/Rock bands of the 60s/70s
