Stand alone BT operation?

Hello everybody,

I've been using a wiim pro for a while and really like it and thinking about buying a mini as well. But I've got a question. Is is possible to use the mini only as BT device without Wifi/internet? So for example in a car? Only USB for power and then use it as a BT streamer?

No, the first thing it does on power up is to connect to wifi

Talking about in car usage. Using the phone as a hotspot/tethering to connect the Mini to the net? Could work.?

Thank you for your reply's. I was hoping it could work stand alone without internet but it seems not. Or maybe stand alone after initial setup in home with internet.
